Children's Dentistry

Your Child's Dentist is Important for Good Health

We stress the importance of children learning how to care for their teeth at an early age. We do so in an environment that is comfortable and fun for them and make sure they understand that caring for their teeth is important for good health.
Children are more prone to cavities for various reasons. Once decay has set in to a tooth, it is permanent damage that requires a filling. Until a child is able to make proper brushing and flossing a daily habit, we ask parents to supervise them with their dental routine.
Children eat throughout the day, and every time food and drink are consumed, acid is produced in the mouth. Teeth that are not clean cause continued acid production and bacteria build-up, and this will lead to decay. We recommend continued daily dental hygiene, more nutritious food choices, and one application of a mineralizing varnish to the surfaces of teeth to reduce the chances of decay.
